David is a CERTIFIED FINANCIAL PLANNERTM beginning his career with Legg Mason Wood Walker, Inc. (LMWW) in 1983 as a Financial Advisor. He became a Vice President of Investments, and Branch Manager while working with clients at LMWW and was selected as Branch Manager of the Year. In 2011 David founded Compass Wealth Strategies, LLC of Maryland. He is series 7,8,63, and 65 licensed with LPL Financial and has an Annuity, Life and Health Insurance license.
Prior to his financial career, David graduated from the United States Naval Academy, Class of 1975, where he earned his Bachelor of Science majoring in mathematics. He was selected by Admiral Rickover for nuclear power training and served aboard a fast-attack nuclear submarine as the Damage Control Assistant and Main Propulsion Assistant. David is a Life Member of the Naval Academy Alumni Association and avid Navy football fan with 30+ years of season tickets. He is also an active member of the Rotary Club of Upper Marlboro since 1984, twice Past President, loyally serving the community for more than 30 years.
David lives in Edgewater, MD with his very charming and talented wife of 40+ years, Nancy, and they have two wonderful adult children Aaron and Andrea, and grandchildren.
